Support
The Alzheimer Society of Perth County offers a variety of services to support people with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia and their care partners. Services are confidential and are provided free of charge. It is not necessary to have a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia or a referral from a healthcare provider. Information Service
Staff are available to respond to inquiries from people with dementia, care partners, healthcare professionals, and the general public. Information is offered about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, diagnosis, treatment, supportive strategies, community resources and research developments.
Information packages are available upon request.
Supportive Counselling
This confidential and flexible service provides individualized supportive counselling for care partners, people with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia and their family or friends. Counselling is offered by telephone, e-mail or in-person at the Alzheimer Society office in Stratford and/or Listowel
or satellite locations throughout Perth County. Telephone
and e-mail support are also available.
Community Referral
Our community referral service connects people with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia and their care partners with healthcare professionals and community support services.
Support Groups
Support Groups are offered to care partners, family or friends throughout Perth County. Meetings take place on a monthly basis, and connect people to education and coping strategies in a safe place while sharing challenges and successes.
